ete with both platforms for some buyers, so we cite each vendor's own site and say plainly where each one wins.
Vimeo OTT vs Uscreen comes down to what you're building. Uscreen is a video membership platform for creators, with community, marketing tools and mobile apps on its higher plans. Vimeo OTT starts as a web-only subscription site that charges per subscriber, and its Enterprise plan adds branded TV apps, live events, ads and a 24/7 live linear channel. Broadcasters and media companies that need FAST channels in their own apps on every TV platform have usually outgrown both.
TL;DR: Pick Uscreen for a creator membership with community and marketing built in. Pick Vimeo OTT Starter to test a web-only subscription with no monthly base fee, or Vimeo OTT Enterprise for branded TV apps, live and ads under an annual contract. If you run a channel business with 24/7 FAST, live and on-demand video, compare broadcaster platforms instead.
This comparison matters now because Vimeo is closing Vimeo On Demand. Its shutdown notice blocked new purchases and subscriptions on September 21, 2026 and shuts the platform on November 20, 2026, and it points creators to Vimeo OTT. Uscreen's migration help lists Vimeo OTT among the sources it moves content from. If you're a Vimeo On Demand seller, read our Vimeo On Demand shutdown guide first.

How do Vimeo OTT and Uscreen pricing compare?
Both charge per subscriber on most plans, but they structure it differently. Vimeo OTT Starter has no base fee: Vimeo's pricing breakdown lists $1 per subscriber per month plus merchant fees of 2.5% + $0.30 for subscriptions, and 10% + $0.50 per buy or rent transaction. Enterprise pricing goes through sales, with volume-based discounts available.
Uscreen charges a monthly base fee plus a fee for each subscriber. Starter is $49 a month with no subscriber fee but caps you at 100 subscribers. Growth is $149 a month billed annually plus $1.99 per subscriber, and App Essentials is $449 a month billed annually plus $0.99 per subscriber. Uscreen's fee schedule adds $99 a month for each extra 100 hours of storage and $15 per live hour over your allowance. It also counts subscribers who buy through Apple, Google or Roku in-app purchases.
A rough way to compare: at 1,000 paying monthly subscribers, Vimeo OTT Starter's subscriber fee is $1,000 a month. On Uscreen Growth it's $149 plus $1,990, or $2,139 a month. These are platform fees only, before card processing, storage and add-ons, and Starter is web-only. Run your own numbers on each vendor's pricing page.
Which has better apps and TV coverage?
Vimeo OTT names more TV platforms, but only on Enterprise. The Vimeo OTT pricing page lists Starter as "Web-only" and Enterprise apps for iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Xbox, Samsung, LG and Vizio.
Uscreen puts iOS and Android apps on App Essentials and Custom, and its plan comparison lists TV apps as an add-on on App Essentials and included on Custom. Its pricing page names Samsung TV, Apple TV, Roku TV, Android TV and Fire TV, and the plan comparison lists app launch "within 90 days."
Which is better for live streaming and 24/7 channels?
Uscreen includes native livestreaming on every plan, with 1 hour a month included and overage billed at $15 an hour. That suits weekly classes or occasional events. Vimeo OTT Starter is "pre-recorded video only." Live events, live pay-per-view and a "24/7 live linear channel" sit on Enterprise.
Neither vendor describes FAST channel tools on these pages, such as an EPG, a program schedule builder or SCTE-35 ad markers.
Which is better for community and marketing?
Uscreen. Every plan includes marketing automations, with email marketing, lead generation, coupons, giveaway funnels and win-back tools, and community channels, challenges and direct messages are an add-on on App Essentials and included on Custom. Vimeo OTT focuses on the storefront, checkout and apps. If your business is a creator membership where members talk to each other, Uscreen is built for that.
What if you're leaving Vimeo On Demand?
Vimeo makes Vimeo OTT the easy next step for its own sellers. Its seller FAQ says that once your Vimeo OTT account is set up, Vimeo Support will notify your buyers where to find your content. Vimeo OTT can also add videos from your existing Vimeo library without new upload hours. It also says content and subscriber data "will not be automatically migrated," so any transition is a fresh start.
Uscreen has a migrations team, though on Growth content migration is self-service. Its migration guide explains that moving card-billed subscribers needs a Stripe data copy that you, as the account owner, authorize. For a dated plan, see how to migrate from Vimeo OTT and Vimeo On Demand.
How do you leave either platform later?
Check the exit before you sign. Uscreen lets you export people and subscription lists as CSV, but videos download one at a time, each link lasts 24 hours, and Uscreen recommends keeping your own copy of every original file. Keep your masters wherever you host, and own your Stripe and app store accounts where you can. Our guide to migrating an OTT platform covers subscribers, billing and app stores step by step.
When have you outgrown both?
Vimeo OTT and Uscreen are built around subscriptions and purchases. You've probably outgrown them when your video business looks more like a TV network than a membership:
You want 24/7 FAST channels with an EPG and ad breaks, next to on-demand and live.
You need ad-supported viewing with your own ad partners, not only subscriptions.
You run several channels or brands from one team.
Your audience watches mostly on Roku, Samsung, LG, Vizio and other TV apps.
That's the job Revidd does. Revidd lets broadcasters and media companies launch their own streaming service on every major screen, with on-demand, live and 24/7 FAST channels in one platform. Native apps run on Roku, Samsung, LG, Vizio, Apple TV, Fire TV and Android TV under your brand, and they can be ready in as little as 1 to 2 weeks, plus app store review that Revidd doesn't control. The FAST Program Manager builds 24/7 schedules with an EPG and SCTE-35 markers for your ad partners. Revidd powers streaming that reaches more than 38 million viewers and 5.2 million monthly active viewers across 15 countries. See OTT apps and our list of the best white-label OTT platforms.
Revidd isn't built for creators, coaching or courses. If your business is a members' club with community at its core, Uscreen is the better fit. Not sure which side you're on? Request a Revidd demo and we'll tell you honestly.
Which should you choose?
Choose Uscreen if you're a creator or coach selling memberships, you want community and marketing in one place, and mobile apps matter more than TV.
Choose Vimeo OTT Starter if you want to test a paid subscription on the web with no monthly base fee.
Choose Vimeo OTT Enterprise if you want branded TV apps, live events and ads from a large vendor and can sign an annual agreement. Vimeo is owned by Bending Spoons, which completed its acquisition on November 24, 2025.
