White label FAST channel for content owners: three models compared

By Sampath Mallidi, CEO of Revidd · October 2026

"White label FAST channel" means three different things to three different vendors. If you own a library and want a free, ad-supported channel under your name, the first job is to work out which one you are buying.

TL;DR: A white label FAST channel is a 24/7 channel that carries your brand, not the vendor's. You can buy it as a managed service where the vendor builds and places the channel, as a platform where you run your own branded channel in your own apps, or as an app front end only. Revidd is the second kind. If you mainly want reach on other companies' FAST services, a managed service is the better fit.

Three things the phrase can mean

Model

What you get

You still need

Examples

Managed channel service

The vendor turns your library into a channel and works to place it on third-party FAST services

Rights, a contract, patience for each service's approval

FAST Channels TV, SoFast

Your own channel on a platform

Scheduling, playout, a program guide and a feed, run by you inside your own branded apps

A library, a schedule, and a plan for audience

Revidd

Branded app front end only

The look of the app and the guide on connected TVs

A video backend, playout and a content system from someone else

What does a managed service do for you?

FAST Channels TV says on its build page that a channel can launch in as little as 2 to 5 days. It lists a managed playout option and a technology licensing option. It is also plain about the limit: "Availability on third-party streaming platforms is subject to their approval."

SoFast describes its April 2026 launch of 35 channels on Whale TV+ as "a fully managed FAST solution" and says it supports "both content owners and platforms with scalable distribution solutions."

That is the pitch: someone else runs it and tries to get you carried. The trade is control. You usually give up some say over where the channel runs, how it is scheduled and who the audience is.

What does your own branded channel look like?

You run the channel yourself, in your own apps. On Revidd that means:

  • A FAST Program Manager where you build the 24/7 schedule from your library, playlists and live streams

  • Cloud playout with a Rescue Playlist and an Ad Filler Playlist as backup

  • A program guide for every channel, inside your apps

  • SCTE-35 markers for your ad partners, and an HLS feed

  • Native apps on Roku, Samsung, LG, Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV, iPhone, iPad, Android and web, from one integration

  • Video on demand and live in the same platform, so the library you already stream feeds the channel

Apps can be live in as little as 1 to 2 weeks, plus store review, which Revidd does not control. You do not need an in-house engineering team.

Revidd powers streaming that reaches more than 38 million viewers and 5.2 million monthly active viewers across 15 countries.

It will not get your channel carried by other companies. Revidd does not place your channel on third-party FAST services for you.

Which one fits you?

Answer these in order. The first yes usually decides it.

  • Do you want your own audience, brand and viewer relationship? Choose your own channel on a platform.

  • Do you want the widest reach with the least work on your side? Choose a managed service, and read the contract for who controls the schedule.

  • Do you already have a video backend and engineers? An app front end only can work.

  • Do you want on-demand and live next to the channel? Choose a platform that runs all three.

  • Not sure? Many content owners do both: their own channel in their own apps, and a managed deal on the side.

What should you ask any vendor before you sign?

  1. Who owns the channel, the schedule and the audience data?

  2. Which services will carry the channel, and who decides? Get it in writing, not "subject to approval" with no detail.

  3. How do we split revenue, if at all, and what is the minimum I commit to?

  4. What happens to the channel if I leave?

  5. Does it work for a channel with a small library, or does it want a large one?

  6. Who fixes a broken stream, and how do I reach them?

  7. What does it cost for my scope? Ask for a written quote.

What do you need ready?

The vendor can only work with what you hand over.

  • Rights in writing for every title, including where and for how long you can show it

  • Clean files, with no burned-in logos from an old channel

  • Titles, descriptions and art for each program

  • Enough hours to fill a schedule without constant repeats

  • Backup content for gaps

When is another model the better choice?

  • You want reach first. A managed service from FAST Channels TV, SoFast, Amagi or Wurl is built for placement on third-party services. Revidd is not.

  • You have no interest in running a channel. If you would rather hand over the library and let someone else run it, a managed service saves you the work.

  • You only need an app skin. Norigin says "We do not provide a Content Management System." If you already have a backend, that can be all you need.

  • You have engineers and unusual requirements. Building your own may suit you. See build vs buy for an OTT platform.

FAQ

What is a white label FAST channel?

It is a free, ad-supported 24/7 channel that carries your brand instead of the vendor's. Some vendors run and place it for you. Others give you the tools to run it in your own apps.

Can I get a white label FAST channel on Samsung TV Plus or Pluto TV?

Through a managed service, possibly, and each service decides for itself. Revidd does not place channels on third-party FAST services.

Who owns a white label FAST channel?

It depends on the contract. Ask in writing who owns the channel, the schedule and the audience data. On Revidd you run the channel in your own apps, under your brand.

Do I need a lot of content?

You need enough hours to fill a schedule without constant repeats. Our guide to turning a video library into a FAST channel walks through how to check what you have.

What does a white label FAST channel cost?

It depends on scope. We do not publish a price here. Ask each vendor for a written quote, or try the FAST channel launch cost calculator.

How long does it take?

Rights and content take the longest. Revidd apps can be live in as little as 1 to 2 weeks, plus store review. A managed service sets its own timeline, and each third-party service approves in its own time.
