Lightcast is a full stack streaming platform with branded apps, live, on demand and 24/7 channels, and for many broadcasters it is a strong choice. If you run a TV network or a faith broadcaster and are comparing it with other options, this page shows where each one fits. We make Revidd, so we are not neutral. We say where Lightcast is the better choice. Every Lightcast fact below comes from lightcast.com, which we read on October 26, 2026. Most of those pages carry no date, so check them again before you decide.
TL;DR: Lightcast suits a buyer who wants one vendor across many kinds of organizations, who already has a FAST feed from another provider to bring into apps, or who values phone support at any hour. Revidd suits a broadcaster that wants on demand, live and its own 24/7 FAST channel from one CMS, in native apps on Roku, Samsung, LG, Vizio, Apple TV, Fire TV and Android TV, with no in house engineering. If Lightcast already runs well for you, stay.
What are the best Lightcast alternatives for a broadcaster?
Note first that "Lightcast" also names a labor market data company. This page is about Lightcast.com, the streaming platform. The short list:
Revidd for a TV network or faith broadcaster that wants live, on demand and a 24/7 FAST channel in its own branded apps.
Other white label vendors. Our guide to the best white label OTT platforms sets several side by side.
Staying with Lightcast. If its app list and tools already cover what you run, a move may not pay off.
If you run a church or ministry channel, read our guide to a faith broadcaster streaming app.
What does Lightcast do well?
Lightcast describes itself as a full stack platform for branded streaming. These points come from its own pages.
Many kinds of customers. Its site has solution pages for broadcast and radio, church and nonprofit, education, business, government and events.
Live, linear and on demand together. Its broadcaster page says all three are run in one CMS, and that a live segment is available on demand once it ends.
Apps built for you. Its apps page says Lightcast builds, submits and maintains your apps, lists Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, Samsung, LG, Vizio, iOS, Android and web browsers, and says to launch "in days, not months."
FAST feeds from other providers. Its FAST article says you can bring a feed from any FAST generator that outputs standard stream protocols into your apps, and names Amagi as one partner.
A 24/7 channel tool. Its site lists a scheduler and playout product for building a 24/7 linear channel.
You keep your viewer data. Its broadcaster page says the broadcaster owns its audience list and viewing data.
Support by phone. Its broadcaster page shows a 24/7 phone desk and an EU hotline.
What should you ask any vendor before you switch?
Ask these of Lightcast, of us and of anyone else on your list.
Which TV apps are live today? Get the list in writing, and ask which are built, submitted and kept up to date for you.
Can I run FAST in my own apps? Ask whether the vendor makes the 24/7 channel itself or takes a feed from somewhere else.
Who owns the audience? Ask who holds the store accounts, the app names and the viewer data if you leave.
How long does a launch take, and what is outside the vendor's control? App store review is never in a vendor's hands.

When is Lightcast the better choice?
Pick Lightcast, or at least talk to them, if any of these is true.
You already have a FAST feed. If another provider such as Amagi makes your 24/7 channel, Lightcast says it can bring that feed into your apps.
You serve more than TV. Radio, podcasts, education, government and events are all on its site.
You want phone support at any hour. It lists a 24/7 desk and an EU hotline.
You want the shortest stated launch. It says "days, not months." We say 1 to 2 weeks plus store review.
You run well on it today. Moving has a cost. If your apps, live and schedule work, stay.
You need Google TV or podcast apps. Both are named on its pages. We do not list them.
Where does Revidd fall short?
Be honest with yourself about these.
We focus on broadcasters and channel owners. If you need one vendor for a university, a business and a radio station, Lightcast lists more segments.
We do not list Google TV or podcast apps.
We do not get your channel placed on third party FAST services. Your channel runs in your own apps. If you need that, look at Amagi or Wurl.
App store review is outside our control, so dates can move.
How do you switch from one platform to another?
List what you run today. Apps, live feeds, library, schedule, ad partners and viewer lists.
Ask who owns what. Store accounts, app names, viewer data and your video files.
Move the library. Bring your titles into one media library and sort them into series and collections.
Build the schedule. Set up your 24/7 channel and live calendar.
Launch the apps. Test on real TVs, then submit to the stores. Apps take as little as 1 to 2 weeks, plus store review.
Switch your viewers over. Do it before the old contract ends.

FAQ
What are the best Lightcast alternatives?
Revidd is one. Our list of the best white label OTT platforms covers others. The best fit depends on the apps you need and whether you make your own FAST channel or bring one in.
Does Lightcast support FAST channels?
Its pages say it can take a FAST feed from another provider into your apps, and that it has a scheduler and playout tool for a 24/7 channel. Ask Lightcast which fits your case. Revidd includes a FAST Program Manager and EPG for your own channel, and SCTE-35 markers for your ad partners.
Does Lightcast have a Vizio or Samsung app?
Its apps page names Samsung, LG and Vizio, along with Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, iOS, Android and web. Ask Lightcast which apps are live for your plan.
Is Lightcast the same as the Lightcast labor market company?
No. Lightcast.com is the streaming platform. A different business with a similar name sells labor market data. Check the name before you read reviews.
How fast can Revidd launch my apps?
In as little as 1 to 2 weeks, plus app store review. Store review is outside our control, so we do not promise a store date.
Is Revidd right for a faith broadcaster?
It can be. A church or ministry channel can run on demand, live and a 24/7 channel in its own branded apps. See our page on a faith broadcaster streaming app.
