Setplex sells a full video service platform, and for some operators it is the right choice. If you run a broadcaster, regional or diaspora channel and want a simpler path to your own apps, a library, live and a 24/7 channel, this page shows when to stay and when to look at other options. We make Revidd, so we are not neutral. We say where Setplex is the better choice. Every Setplex fact below comes from setplex.com, which we read on October 25, 2026. The pages we read carry no date, so check them again before you decide.
TL;DR: Setplex suits an operator that wants a modular platform it can take in full or in parts, with its own middleware, transcoder, CDN and apps. Revidd suits a broadcaster or channel owner that wants one plug and play white label platform with native apps on Roku, Samsung, LG, Vizio, Apple TV, Fire TV and Android TV, and no in house engineering. If you need to build the pieces your own way, stay with Setplex.
What are the best Setplex alternatives for a broadcaster or diaspora channel?
It depends on how much of the stack you want to run. The short list:
Revidd for a broadcaster that wants on demand, live and a 24/7 FAST channel from one CMS, in branded apps on TV devices.
Other white label vendors. Our guide to the best white label OTT platforms sets several side by side.
Staying with Setplex. If you run a large operator service and need modular parts, a move may not pay off.

What does Setplex do well?
Setplex describes itself as a video service platform for video providers, service operators and broadcasters. Its Zapflex page lays out five parts.
Manage. Nora middleware to configure and run a service from a web interface.
Prepare. The Setrix transcoder, which processes and packages video for delivery.
Deliver. The Streampool CDN, which works as an origin, on its own, or next to third party CDN partners.
Present. Norago apps. Its apps page says they are branded with your fonts and colors and are available across Apple, Android, Roku, Samsung and LG stores.
Measure. Analytix, for viewer and performance reporting.
Take what you need. It says you can adopt the whole platform or only the parts you need.
Scale and recognition. Its about page says it serves over 80 TV operators, broadcasters and content providers worldwide, and lists several industry awards.
Diaspora experience. Its UVOtv case study describes a free, ad supported service for North American diaspora viewers, with apps on iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, Samsung, LG and web. The figures in it are Setplex's own.
Why do some operators look elsewhere?
We only use what Setplex says about itself.
Many parts to put together. A modular platform gives control, and it also gives you more pieces to plan and run.
No launch time stated. The apps page says you can launch a branded app quickly across platforms. It gives no timeframe.
FAST not mentioned. The Zapflex and home pages do not mention FAST or a 24/7 channel product. The UVOtv page describes free ad supported viewing and never uses the term.
Vizio not named. The device lists we read do not name Vizio.
No prices. We do not quote Setplex prices and you will not find ours here.
None of this means Setplex cannot do these things. It means you should ask.

When is Setplex the better choice?
Pick Setplex, or at least talk to them, if any of these is true.
You want to choose each part. Middleware, transcoder, CDN and apps can be taken separately.
You already run part of a stack. It says its parts can extend a system you have.
You need custom app work. Its apps page says apps can be the base for custom built experiences.
You are an operator with a large service. Its stated base is TV operators and service providers worldwide.
You need Windows or VIDAA. Both are named on its device list. Revidd does not list them.
You have your own engineers. A team that wants control may like a modular build.
Where does Revidd fall short?
Be honest with yourself about these.
Revidd is a ready platform with native apps, not a kit of parts. You get less room to build your own middleware or CDN.
We do not list Windows or VIDAA apps.
We do not get your channel placed on third party FAST services. Your channel runs in your own apps.
App store review is outside our control, so dates can move.
We do not publish prices. You get a quote in a demo.
How does a channel move over?
List what you run today. Apps, live feeds, library, schedule, ad partners and viewer lists.
Ask who owns what. Store accounts, app names, viewer data and your video files.
Move the library. Bring your titles into one media library and sort them into series and collections.
Build the schedule. Set up your 24/7 channel and live calendar.
Launch the apps. Test on real TVs, then submit to the stores. Apps take as little as 1 to 2 weeks, plus store review.
Switch your viewers over. Do it before the old contract ends.
